Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Church,

I wanted to take a moment and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! This year has been very special year for us. As a family we are grateful for having deeper roots here in Tacoma, more friends, and of course a new one on the way. We are also so grateful to God for the unchanging truth of grace and mercy seen in his perfect son, Jesus. This truth wakes us up in the morning and puts us to bed at night. It's amazing to know that as everything else changes around us the main thing stays the same.

As a church we are grateful for all the additions and our new Sunday meeting location. God has really been working in us and through us. I have heard story after story of people being supernaturally transformed by God and being used by God to see others supernaturally transformed by God... and that's what we're all about!

Also, it was an absolute privilege for me to deliver a check to the Tacoma Rescue Mission for $404! That's a lot of turkey! Thank you all for being a blessing to those in need in this city. I know one day we will have a greater influence here, but for now I am grateful for the influence we have.

I am truly thankful for all of you!

Morning of Prayer and Worship!

This Sunday, November 23rd at 10:00 am we will gather at 711 St. Helens for a morning of worship and prayer. As a church we pray because we know that God can build a church a lot better than we can. We are in need of Jesus, the master builder. Please join us!

There will be childcare... the parents will be asked to sign up for a 20 minute time slot in the kids room.

However, there will not be any coffee... it's byoc.

We will also have our usual gathering at Central Lutheran at 4pm! Hope to see you all there.

Stuff a Turkey!

This Sunday we will be collecting all the 'Stuffed Turkeys'. We have already received several and we can't wait to present the money to the Tacoma Rescue Mission so they can buy several turkeys for Thanksgiving.

If you did not pick up a turkey envelope last week that's okay. You can bring cash in your own envelope (just make sure you right Turkey on the envelope) or you can bring a check and just write Turkey in the memo.

Good sized turkeys are going for about $20-$25... I know this can be a stretch. Perhaps you could share an envelope with someone or another family. Whatever you can give will be a huge blessing to people who would normally go without!

Thanks so much for being a blessing!

Beautiful!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of those who helped in this transition. I couldn't help but think how beautiful it was to see people pulling together to see this church established in Tacoma. Our first Sunday at the Central Lutheran Church building was a success. From the set up to the take down, I really feel like we accomplished what we set out to do.

This doesn't mean it's over! We have a long list of improvements that we hope to implement as soon as possible and we could certainly use more help. Three areas of help are needed: kid's workers, set-up and take-down, and setting up the sound system. Volunteering to help in any of these areas would include training so don't worry if you feel inadequate. So many of you have offered your services already and we are truly grateful!

If you would like to help with the kids, please email or speak with Malena Swarthout.

If you would like to help with set-up and take-down, please email or speak with Wes Swarthout.

If you would like to help with the sound system, please email or speak with Waymond Hampton.

Again, I can't express how grateful I am to all of you. It's a real privilege to serve with you as we establish a church(es) where lives are supernaturally changed by God.
