NCC at the Market

I am extremely excited to announce that we have been invited to participate in one of Tacoma's finest events. This summer we will be involved in four (4) days of the Tacoma Farmer's Market. The market will be hosting a new section called the Local Living Lounge which will give non-profits the opportunity to serve the market and promote what they do in the community.

We will need a lot of help pulling this off... setting up, taking down, handing out waters, helping children with crafts, and just some smiling faces. Please let me (Bo) know if you would be interested in helping out.

The dates are as follows....
June 12th - Dad's Day
June 19th - Kid's Day #1
August 7th - Kid's Day #2
September 25th - Mind, Body, Spirit Day

This is an amazing opportunity for us to serve and bless the city of Tacoma!

The Heartbeat

This Sunday night we will be gathering for prayer and worship at 711 St. Helens. This is a once a month event that is really the heartbeat of our church. Please join us as we seek God for ourselves, our city and the nations.

Start time is 5:30 and we will end at 7. There is childcare... if you are dropping a child off you will be asked to sign up for a 20 minute stint in the NCC Kids room.

Save the Date(s)!

I'm sure all of you are as ready as I am for summer. I wanted to mention a couple of dates to all of you that I really hope fit into your summer plans.

First one is July 18-19 (Friday and Saturday). Brad and Beccy Stave have been gracious enough to set up a church camping trip. The location is Belfair State Park which is located about an hour away near the Hood Canal. Activities include swimming, fishing, kids play area, horseshoes, volleyball and much more. Accommodations.... a tent! The trip is open to anyone (NCCer or not an NCCer), but space will be limited so please contact Beccy if you would like to go. (By the way, this is purely a recreational time... no teaching sessions or anything like that.)

The next date is August 15-17 (Friday-Sunday). This is for Newfrontiers Celebration Northwest which is a conference for all the Newfrontiers churches in the northwest. This year we will have Terry Virgo as the main speaker. There will be childcare, kid's programs and Oneblaze (7th - 12th graders). (Oneblaze will actually start on the Wednesday before and then merge into Celebration Northwest.) The conference will be held at Silver Creek Fellowship in Silverton, OR. More details will be available soon. I really want to encourage all of you to attend this one.... and bring a friend if you'd like!

Just a quick note to remind you all about Alpha on Wednesday night. Should be an exciting time! We will start at 6:30 pm with an amazing meal prepared by Chef Alfredo. I will speak for about 20-30 minutes and that will be it for the first night. The following nights we will break into discussion groups after the talk. In case you missed it, or just want to see it again.... here is the Alpha Invitation video...

A Night to Touch Heaven

This Sunday, March 16th we will be gathering at 5:30-7 pm to worship God and pray for ourselves, our city, and the nations. We are really looking forward to a powerful time of worship and a time of asking for Jesus' kingdom to invade our world. These are important times for us as a new church. With Easter and Alpha on the horizon let's press into Jesus and ask Him to build this church!

FYI - This is in addition to our Sunday morning meeting...

Alpha on the Horizon

It's no secret that we at New Community Church are huge fans of the Alpha Course. In fact we like it so much we would love to see everyone at NCC go through it at least once. I've been on the course and taught the course more times than I can remember and yet I feel built up and encouraged every time. Whether you've been a Christian for years or not a Christian at all I believe that Alpha will be very helpful.

Alpha begins on Wednesday, March 26th at 6:30 pm. A meal will be served right at 6:30 pm followed by a short talk. In future weeks there will be a meal, short talk, and discussion groups.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
