NCC Kids Resource (Attention Parents)

There is a new resource available to you online! Visit the New Community Church website to view the class topics, lesson plans, memory verses, themes, and questions to reinforce what your children are learning on Sunday at home. The website will be updated monthly for all the age groups above the nursery.

On the NCC website click kids or go to http://www.ncctacoma.org/kids.php and then click on the link for the resources for the current month.

We hope this serves you and gives you an opportunity to train your children to love God.

THANK YOU!

Dear Church,

I wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude to all of you. You all have been so impressive in this season of transition! Your hard work, combined with smiles and laughter, have served us as we have successfully moved into Stadium High School. I know there are always a few kinks to work out, but overall, we are ready to increase our presence and to extend the kingdom of God in Tacoma! Well done!!!!

A few practical things we can do as we move forward.

1. Please consider sitting on the bottom level. Our hope is that the bottom level would be 70% full before we start to sit in the upper level. The ushers will help with that 70% thing! This seems like a small thing, but it shows the visitors that we are together as a people and not just individuals scattered in a big venue.

2. Please also consider sitting toward the middle of the row. As visitors and others come late it's uncomfortable for them to skooch pass people to find a seat. So of course they don't... they just go sit on the outside of an unoccupied row. Again, our visitors have all the rights when they come... including where they want to sit. We would ask that our NCCers would serve them by sitting toward the middle.

Now, I certainly understand that moms with little ones want to sit up top for more space. Totally fine! These are not hard rules, just another opportunity for us to welcome new people and show the city we are a people reconciled to God and to each other.

Again, thanks so much for your hard work and prayers as we move forward. These are extremely exciting times. These are also extremely important times as we play our role in fulfilling the Great Commission!

For Him,

Bo

RCM Conference and More

We are very excited about the upcoming Reformed Charismatic Missional Conference on March 4-5. I know some have volunteered to serve at the conference, which is great, but also wanted to encourage some of you to just attend. The information presented will be challenging and uplifting! For more information and to register please click here.

Please also note that we won't be meeting at Stadium High on Sunday, March 6th. We will be at Central Lutheran at 4 pm to worship, receive teaching from Terry Virgo, baptize people and eat. We will be joined by Cedar Springs Church from Graham, WA. This should prove to be a fantastic time... feel free to invite whomever you'd like!

McCarver Family Fun Night!

Thursday Feb 24th: McCarver Elementary needs volunteers for there Family Fun Night! They are serving dinner and will need helpers to set up, serve food, clean up ect. They are looking for a group of NCCers to help out from 6 - 8:30pm. This is a great way to serve one of the poorest schools in Tacoma and to show a bunch of kids (and adults) what the church is about. The first 8 people to sign up will be in! Please email info@ncctacoma.org if you want to come along.

Map to Stadium

Well, one more week at Central Lutheran! I found Aaron Scott's word about God being our dwelling place to be so helpful! We find life, meaning, mission, hope and security in God, not in a building or a meeting. So here we go...

Joining the Church -Thursday, January 27th, 6 pm at Central Lutheran If you haven't checked out a Joining the Church night we highly recommend it. Attending doesn't mean you've signed you life away, just come and hear our heart and ask any questions you might have. Also, dinner is served so please RSVP to me.

Sunday, January 30th at Central Lutheran at 4 pm - Our last Sunday gathering at Central Lutheran. I will be preaching from John 6 on Jesus walking on water.

Friday, February 4th at 6 pm at Central Lutheran - First Friday - Come for dinner, leadership training, prayer and worship! Might be our most important one yet!

Sunday, February 6th at Stadium High School at 10 am - This is an open house... we will set up the kids rooms and the stage for worship, then gather for worship and prayer. You are welcome to come at 8:30 am to help the process if you'd like. Again, not a great Sunday to invite your friends too, however if they really want to come, then so be it!

Super Bowl Party! - Central Lutheran at 3:30 pm - Bring your best chile, meatballs, dip, etc... We will have a big potluck party. NCC will provide drinks and plates and utensils. If you are looking for comfort, feel free to bring your couch!

Sunday, February 13, 20, 27 - Gathering at Stadium High School at 10 am. We will continue to work through the Gospel of John.

March 4-5 Reformed, Charismatic, Missional Conference at Central Lutheran (in the main sanctuary).

Sunday, March 6th at 4pm - Joint Meeting with Cedar Springs (Newfrontiers Church in Graham) Terry Virgo will be preaching, baptisms and BBQ! If you'd like to be baptized, or know more about what that means, please contact me. At this point, Stadium High School has informed us that the Performing Arts Center is not available for us that morning, so this will be our only meeting that Sunday.

Sunday, March 13th at Stadium at 10 am - Start a new series, either called A Series of Uncomfortable Subjects or The Elephant in the Room, not sure yet. Rest assured, it will be gnarly. Stuff like, Sex, Money, Religion, Politics, you know... This is a great chance to invite any and all! Please be in prayer, asking the Spirit to lead you to people to invite to this series.

I am praying for each one of you in this transition. May we move forward together with courage and faith!

With Love,

Bo Noonan

First Friday!

It's that time again! First Friday is this Friday, January 7th at 6 pm. It will be a great time to eat together, pray together, worship together, and grow in leadership together. Please be there!

We need to know if you are coming so we can have enough food. Email Michael Gray if you can make it!

This is one of the most exciting times in our young church's history. Our prayer is that move forward together!

Read the Bible in 2011

It's hard to put into words the value of the Bible. The best advice I can give you when it comes to the Bible is... read it. Here is a link to a plan that will help you read the Bible in a year. I like this plan as it gives room for that occasional day off. Give it a shot, you won't regret it!
